Warm winter thoughts...

Rumour has it that it's going to be bitterly cold in the UK this winter, and as one news article put it, 'The coldest winter in modern times'! Well, I am bracing myself for the cold snap that is to come, and I fill my mind with thoughts of cosy evenings spent by candlelight, to banish any gloominess that might be induced by nights drawing in, cold, grey skies and shorter days...Of course, there will be food, and cocktails...

There will be project planning, and making...

In the mean time, little Christmas touches are slowly sneaking into the house... Too early? I think not!

I know it's been very quiet here, but it is a busy time for me and my trusty Elna. I am sewing up a storm, and I've had to close my order book as my fingers and sewing foot can't keep up!

I am making an army of these...

When I really long for more time to make more of these...

But, Christmas is coming, and with it hopefully a time of rest, peace and memory making with the kiddies...This year we'll be doing things a little differently, but more on that next time. For now, I wish you wonderfully warm winter thoughts!

Blessings, Tania ♥

  1. Beautiful table, beautiful sewing. I'm new to your blog - from Vancouver Island in Canada.

  2. News of the UK's icy temps crossed the pond this week, too, and believe me when I say that you - and all those in your country - have this canuck's total understanding. Having grown up with super chilly winters, they're like second nature to me (not all Canadians feel that way though, some of us handle winter better than others), but I witnessed firsthand with Tony (who was born and raised in Italy) what a bone chilling winter can be like for those who aren't accustomed to them (he's become somewhat more acclimatized over the years). My advice is to layer, layer and layer some more, keep pocket and boot warmer packs on hand at times when out and about, and make sure a pot of hot chocolate is always at the ready. :)

  4. Hi, Tania--

I was sure I was following you via Bloglovin, but I just had to re-add you. In any case, I'm glad to have found you again, and your holiday preparations look great. The third photo down--of your whole table all set up--is just dreamy.

Enjoy this month, it always goes so fast!

  5. The gingerbreads are so darling. Can you please tell me what kind of material you used to make them? Thank you!
