Hello my lovelies! I hope you are all having a chillaxing weekend? We certainly are! The air has definitely turned autumnal here, and I'm loving it! As we've not been doing much, I have been playing 'dress up' on Polyvore. This is all new to me, but I have had such fun putting outfits together which, let's face it, mostly ends up on my wishlist! Valentino doesn't come cheap! But, a girl can drool and dream, right? So, I'll be posting random sets here on my blog from time to time for you to take a peak at, just to spice things up a bit. With the seasons changing, I'm thinking of my closet more as it's time to swap summer sandals and skirts for cosy, warmer boots, woollies and a touch of tweed! Perhaps that's why I'm playing 'dress up'!
Sending you all happy thoughts and warm hugs!

Romance meets granny chic...
Hello my lovelies! I'm sorry for the silence on my part, but this week has been a testing one! Life does sometimes throw one a curve ball (or three), and then all good intentions and productivity flies out the window! Anyhow, I did finally manage to do a little sewing today, albeit a 'quickie' project. In all honesty, this little project was all I could muster today! I think you all know by now that I am madly in love with lace and doilies...yes, I too have been converted to granny chic. So, today I decided to use both to make a scarf. A bit of lace for romance, teamed up with some cute doilies, and that's how you marry romance and granny chic!
I started with my base...two strips of muslin fabric cut to size...about 10" x 60"...roughly...no need for fiddly measuring!
I took a deep breath, and cut into this once beautiful, now slightly worn lace blouse...some panels to sew onto my base...
Using the panels from the lace top, and an assortment of lace and doilies, I set to work adding the layers to the one of the muslin strips...No exact science...just how and where I fancied...
Then, placing the two base strips together, right sides facing, I sewed all around, leaving a 10cm gap at one end to turn it inside out. I then sewed the open end shut, pressed the scarf with an iron, and voila!
And there you have it! An easy-peasy, romantic, lacy bit of granny chic! And all from re-cycled bits of loveliness! Please excuse the 'not so perfect' photographs...they were taken in a hurry whilst burning dinner in the oven! I will make sure to take better pictures next time, and not to cremate the fish and chips!
Until next time!
Blessings, Tania ♥

Small blessings and bunting...
Hello my lovelies! We're well back into the swing of things as the new school year has started, and I'm slowly trying to get organised for what is always the busiest time of year for me. What with all the sewing for Christmas craft stalls, and pressies for loved ones, I always feel permanently bonded to my Elna at this time. However, I am forever leaving things to the last minute, and then having to sew until stupid-o-clock every morning to meet deadlines, but I shall make a 'ginormous' effort to be a little more forward thinking and pro-active this year! I meant to tidy my sewing stash today in readiness for the sewing en-mass that is to come, but my little man was poorly today and off school (already!), so those intentions were coughed out the window...literally...Instead, whilst playing nurse, cook and the provider of entertainment, I managed to make a little something to get me in the mood for sewing. I've been tidying and re-organising my dresser, for the gazzilionth time, as I just can't stop playing house with it, and I made some teeny-tiny bunting to jazz it up!
Recycling lovely sheets and pillow cases...
Recycling lovely sheets and pillow cases...
Teeny-tiny triangles...
Bunnies, bunting, flowers and tea cups...small blessings to brighten the shelves...
The dresser is looking a little more cheerful now, and I'm feeling more cheerful too...little man has perked up, and I'm counting my blessings...
I may not have achieved the task I set out to do today, but I've at least been a little productive. I hope you're enjoying blessings too wherever you are!
