I have been itching to sew a deer from one of Tone Finnanger's books, one I was given by a dear friend for my birthday. The minute I turned the page, and I knew it would be the first project I'd attempt.
And so, my little collection of deer is growing, and another family member richer!
I now face this dilemma...Where do I put her? Oh deer!
Do you also share a love of deer? Or obsessions of a different kind? Are you a collector? I'd love to hear from you!
Blessings

My sister collects deer too. Well, fawns specifically: those kitch 1950s ones with huge pathetic eyes mostly lol. I think she also has a couple of Babycham ones, and a totally tacky Japanese one covered in shiny gold paint.
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny! Ha-ha! Some of the deer can be a little...hmmm...of an acquired taste! I love the Babycham ones...still searching for mine!
DeleteThanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteHi Claire! Yes, I think it will really come into it's own at Christmas. I think I'm going to dress it with a little furry collar at Christmas! Lol! Nice to hear from you. Have a super weekend!

Our town has a serious deer problem (sadly many are hit by motorists each month, often resulting in major injuries to the driver/passengers) and it seems the folks at city hall can't figure out how to handle it. Thankfully we've not been touched by it first hand (short of seeing them on our street sometimes), but I know people who have been. I feel bad for the deer in all this - it's really not their fault for coming into urban areas for food and water. I love depictions of deers in any form - especially 3D like this endlessly charming toy - and doubt I could ever stop liking these majestic creatures.

I think it is so sad that this has become a problem...for the deer and the people. Human life at the end of the day is precious, and it is
Deletetragic when these accidents happen. :(
Let's hope we found ways of keeping the deer and the people safe!
Have a wonderful weekend lovely lady!
