Do you have a favourite season of the year? Being a South African, I always thought that my loyalties naturally gravitated towards summer, but having lived in the UK for fourteen years, I think I've become a winter lover. We are very blessed to experience clearly defined seasons over here, each with it's own beauty and appeal. Over the years I've learnt that I'm very much a home bird, nesting and getting cosy in the cold weather, wrapping up warm against the elements. However, I am falling in love with autumn more and more...it's colourful, earthy tones, the abundant and delightful bounty that nature bestows on us, the crispness of the morning air, and the ever changing palette of the trees and woodland floor. Every season yields gifts of it's own, and none more so than autumn...Here is how we celebrate autumn in all it's glory!
Autumn walks...
Letting our imagination run wild...
Looking for fairies...
Picking blackberries...and then perhaps indulging in a little baking...
Apple picking...nothing beats a warm apple crumble from the oven on a chilly afternoon...
Eating soup, soup, and more soup! Enjoying old favourites, like our 'Chunky bacon, lentil and veggie soup', and trying out new varieties too...
Reading a good book, whilst enjoying a warm cup of cocoa with toasted marshmallows...
I am falling deeply in love with this harvest season, and there are so many things we still plan to enjoy. After all, autumn hasn't quite peaked yet! I think a picnic is still on the cards, and of course a social gathering of friends on 'Soup night'!
Here's to the awesomeness of autumn!
Blessings, Tania ♥
Gorgeous post Tania! Loving autumn too. Nothing beats a good walk followed by a hearty bowl of soup and some crumble. Waiting for leaf crunching time :) always fun with the wee ones!

Enchantingly lovely post, dear Tania! Fall is, and has always been, my all time favourite season of the year. From the fact that it houses my wedding anniversary, Halloween (my favourite holiday), and Canadian Thanksgiving, not to mention simple joys like the ones you highlighted here, autumn will always take pride-of-place in my heart.

I grew up in South Africa and absolutely loved the summers there. I still hold such nostalgic memories. But since moving to Austrialia, and especially Queensland, I hate summer and want it to be winter all the time. We are contemplating a move to Tasmania in a few years time and I am looking forward to lovely summers again.
