My favourite purchase of the day! A 1950's Comet children's sewing machine. A little rusty in places, but full of charm and history...
Of course thrifting isn't something that I only do at bootsales and thrift shops. To me it is a way of life, perhaps born out of necessity as we all have to watch our pennies very carefully these days! I have had my eye on a set of ceramic cherry canisters for quite some time now. I wasn't willing to pay the full price set by the very greedy supermarket giant, so I've been waiting patiently in the hope that they will be reduced at some point. Imagine my delight when I discovered them on the clearance shelf this week! Instead of paying the full price of £7.15 each, I got them for a mere £1.79 each! Bargain!
Good things really do come to those who wait...

The thermos flask is so pretty and will be perfect to carry tea in on your picnics! I love vintage children's books too, and I can see why you are so fond of this one! The illustrations are gorgeous and so sweet! The cross-stitch sampler is very beautiful and the saying is so charming! I love your little 1950's sewing machine!!! I am so happy for you darling girl!
