Hooray! First Blog Giveaway!

There is nothing more exciting than gifting! As a little girl I used to look forward to my birthday and Christmas with such anticipation of what was going to be wrapped up at the end of my bed. Not much has changed, and if I get wind of any pressies hiding anywhere in the house, I automatically turn into a sniffer dog! I have NO self-control when it comes to waiting. I remember being about ten years old when I suspected that my mum and dad had been shopping for Christmas presents one morning. I figured that they had left their loot safely in the boot of the car , so I decided to do some investigating. I had a good old rummage through all the shopping bags, and firmly shut the car boot, just to realize that I had shut the car keys inside! The boot automatically locked, so, feeling very ashamed, I crawled back to my mum, tail between my legs, to explain what I had done. Yes, I have learned my lesson...I am much more careful now when rifling through Santa's stash!

Apart from receiving lovely gifts, there is only one thing that I find more satisfying. Giving a gift to someone, and seeing the pleasure on their face as they unwrap it! So, with that in mind, I have decided to host my very first blog giveaway. I might not be there when it's received and unwrapped, but if you enter to win, it will surely brighten up my day! For my first giveaway, I have decided to do it over three days, so three giveaways! And what better way to kick it off, than with a bit of Cath Kidston? Today you can enter to win this gorgeous floral tin packed with 18 spools of sewing thread, along with this quirky apple pin cushion made by yours truly!

Giveaway ending 15th June

All you have to do to enter is tell me (in short!) what you most like about summer. Just leave your comment, along with your name and contact details (email) below. All entries must be in by the end of Wednesday, 15th June 2011, and the winner will be randomly selected and notified on Thursday, the 16th. This giveaway is open to readers everywhere.

Don't forget, this is the first of three giveaways, so do check in tomorrow for the second installment. Be blessed, and look forward to hearing from you!

  1. So sweet -- that tin is precious! My favorite part of summer is wearing t-shirts and tank tops outside. After long New England winters, I cherish every second of freedom from hats, gloves, scarves and bulky coats!

  9. Wow what a cute giveaway, I need a tin for threads! My favourite thing about summer has to be the children running wild in the garden leaving me in peace and quiet to sew inside! (oh is that just so selfish!). mary(dot)emmens(dot)co(dot)uk

Summer means...early morning sunrise WITHOUT hitting the snooze button! fires lit at dusk, the smell of meat he=itting the braai, pimms and lemonade, laughter, kids screeching as they 'bomb' into the pool, the smell of the dust as the first raindrops hit the hot tar, just before a huge summer storm!! and the smell of suncream on your little one as you wash away the last traces of a hot and busy day!...i'd forgotten how much i love summer....thanks!
