March...

Well, hello! Long time no see! And yes, I know it's my doing...again...I really don't mean to stay away for so long, but I haven't really felt that I had anything worth sharing on here for some time now. And truth be told, the things that were worth writing about, well, I was just too busy enjoying them to think to write about them! It has been a mixed bag, the last few weeks, and energy levels were at an all time low. This mainly due to a horrid tooth infection that sucked the life out of me! In amongst the clove oil, dental visits and tooth drilling, I have also celebrated my 39th birthday, had a wonderful weekend break away with the ladies from our church, started and finished some sewing projects and kept up with the day job and family commitments as usual. There has been other celebrations too...a dear friend's birthday and Easter, so life has been busy. So, I warn you...This is going to be a picture heavy post! I have so much too share! Go on, put the kettle on...

Easter snaps...

Birthday treats...

Looking back, regardless of the tough days, it has indeed been a lovely month of March. May the loveliness continue into April!

Pastel polishing...

Hello my lovelies! Well, it's finally here. Sunshine, daffodils and brighter evenings! I revel in the changing seasons, as they are so beautifully and characteristically defined here in the UK. Every season inspires a little nest primping in our home, as I love to change things around to reflect the time of year. My favourite corner to dress is most definitely the dresser which sits in our living/dining room. Since we acquired it, it has always been styled with red accessories. Red is my favourite colour after all! But, for while now I have longed for a change, something a little more brighter, ethereal, springlike! It felt like it needed a bit of polishing...with pastels! And, what better time to tackle a change of mood than spring, with a little Easter celebration thrown in for good measure!

The dresser before...in red at Christmas time...

The dresser now...pastel spring colours of pinks, blues and yellows!

Some Easter chocolate bunnies in jars...

An old favourite...'E' for Easter...

Some decorative altered books in a stash...tied with velvet ribbon...
I cut out a display window through the cover, added some gold leaf, glitter and Scrabble letters...

Fresh flowers...

And a few favourite things...

A basket of eggs...and an egg box prettied up...

And who said deer are just for Christmas?

I'm in love with the cheery lightness in this corner. It might stay like this well beyond Easter!

Blessings, Tania ♥

A little forgotten project...

Hello me lovelies! Well, I hope you have all enjoyed the Easter weekend, and are making the most of the last day! And hopefully you haven't over-indulged in chocolate eggs like I have. I tried something a little different this morning for breakfast. A nice warm slice of toast, topped with creamy cheesy spread and dotted with a few mini candy coated chocolate eggs...yum...I kid you not! Anyway, I've been meaning to share a project of mine with you for quite some time now. It's something I made for Easter a long time ago, and I was so pleased with the way it turned out that it stays out all year round. It hangs on our kitchen door, and only gets put away at Christmas and Valentine's day to make room for other decorations.

You all know by now that I am a huge fan of Tone Finnanger's Tilda creations, and own nearly every book! Inspired by her lovelies, I decided to make a wreath for Easter by sewing components from her books, and teaming it up with a few other spring-like items I already had...

A few hearts in assorted sizes, teamed up with paper flowers...

A couple of twirly fabric roses and pearly pins...

Little birdies and pastel eggs...

And voila! An Easter wreath to cheer things up!

Oh, and of course a bow to finish it off!

I was so pleased with how it turned out, especially as it was very inexpensive to make! This really appeals to my thrifty self! I used a Styrofoam wreath for the base, and merely covered it with a recycled skirt which I cut into strips. I then tied the strips around the wreath base, and added all the little extras. I have made a few variations since this one, and hope to share those with you too.

Happiness, joy, love and peace to you, wherever your feet may take you!

Easter blessings to you!

One of my favourite times of the year is Easter. To me it means love, agape love (selfless love), hope and my reason for living an abundant life because of the sacrifice Jesus paid for me. It's a time of year which coincides with spring, which signals new beginnings and a fresh start. I get so excited when Easter arrives, and we can reflect on all that is good in our lives, and spend time with our loved ones. And, we do have fun indulging in a few traditions over this weekend! To kick things off, we make a few new additions to our Easter decorations stash. This year we decoupaged some plastic eggs, using old recycled pages about the story, the real meaning of  Easter.

We then decorated them with some ribbon and flowers...

We also made some large ones, which the children  personalised with stickers...

And here they are as part of our Easter vignettes...

I decorated an old baking tray with a few touches of spring...

...and I made this 'E' for Easter...

A few more  friends added...
I dear little deer...

The Bunnykins cup and saucer used to belong to my aunt when she was little...

A twig tree to complete this little corner...

And what would Easter be without a few eggs...

...and a few bunnies...

And perhaps the most famous egg of all?

Don't forget the Daffodils...

One final touch...a little whimsy...

And so the decorating is done. You will notice that there isn't a chocolate egg in sight...just yet...
The Easter bunny hasn't come to our house yet, but he never disappoints. He always pays a visit in time for the kidlets to wake up to a scattering of eggs on Easter Sunday.

I hope that you are having a very blessed time wherever you are. May you sow love, and feel loved this Easter!
